Special event to mark end of summer

A SPECIAL event at a Paignton community hub will mark the end of the summer, thanks to funding from Sanctuary Housing.

Taking place at Great Parks Community Centre on September 23 from noon until 4pm, the fun day will host a range of free activities.

There will be Zumba and yoga demonstrations, information about regular activities at GPCC and the chance for young people to get involved in designing parts of the centre’s new nature trail.

Refreshments will be on offer, with volunteers also on hand to have an informal chat with residents about getting involved at GPCC.

Sanctuary’s neighbourhood partnerships manager, Lynne Roberts, said: “GPCC is one of the best-loved community centres in Torbay and the volunteers there play a vital role in its success.

“I would urge all local residents to pop along, there will a variety of activities on offer and it’s set to be a fun, relaxed event.”

GPCC’s chairperson, Jenny Day, added: “We’re really excited to hold this event and everyone is welcome to come along and have a great time.”
