Injuries and sickness curtail Teigns ambition
TRIBUTE SOUTH WEST ONE WEST
Teignmouth will be hoping for some good news on the selection front for Saturday’s trip to South West One West bottom-of-the-table Coney Hill.
The Teigns were already a couple of injured players short when they picked a side to face Devonport Services last Sat- urday, then lost three more.
Centres Peter Brogden and Will Sowden both dropped out after the team was picked. And on match-day morning front-rower Callum Browse called in sick.
It meant another round of reshuffling and the starting side had an unfamiliar look to it in places.
Services went on to win 29-17, which was not a bad result from Teignmouth’s standpoint.
“Considering we were disrupted by late changes it was not a bad result at all,” said director of rugby Andy Crossman. “Services were a big side and we struggled at times to match their physicality.

Faolan Lidstone kicked well
“We stayed in the game by kicking penalties, but for every kick we landed they scored try.
“Defensively, we made Services work hard for their tries and we can be proud of our efforts, even if the result was not what we were hoping for.
“Faolan Lidstone kicked well all game for us and we did score nice try near the end through Aaron Smith.”
