First- ever summer season action at London’s Actondepot this August
LONDONTransportMuseum’s ActonTowndepot will reopen for visitors for10days inAugust in what is its first- ever summer season.
Thedepot will be from Wednesday, August 19 to Sunday the 23rdand fromWednesday, August 26 to Sunday, August 30 from 11am to 6pm.
The LondonTransportMiniature Railway will beopen for service, with passengers able to travel on models of vintage London Underground trains used on the Metropolitan line between the 1920s and 1960s.
Tickets to ride on the miniature railway will be available to buy separately on the dayusing contactless payments.
A special family- friendly trail will takepeople on a journey through the depot to discover the stories of historic vehicles, including a yellowVictorian horse- drawn ‘ garden seat’bus dating from 1881 to a 1938 Stock tube train.
Children will receive a special, sealed pack, which will include a fun craft kit to makeduring the visit and a take- home activity.
Museum director Sam Mullins said:“Opening our depot for a summer season is unprecedented for us.
“However, when we started thinking about reopening, we wanted to try something new by offering families a safe, local, funday out during the summer holidays, with social distancing and newsafetymeasures inplace.”

Adult tickets cost £ 15 and are £ 7.50 for children aged 4- 17.
LondonTransport Museum in Covent Garden, including its popular Hidden London exhibition, will reopen in the autumn.
