Popular display by society
A DISPLAY of artwork by members of Hinckley and District Society of Arts attracted hundreds of visitors and saw several pieces sold.
More than 200 people attended the two-day exhibition which was held in Burbage Congregational Church as part of Burbage Community Arts Festival.
There were more than 100 pieces of artwork on display, 11 of which were sold during the weekend.
Visitors were invited to vote for their favourite, which was a painting of boats on water at sunset by Sylvia Turner, who was presented with a special trophy to mark the achievement.
Society member and professional artist Kay Puttergill commemorated the event by painting the exhibition scene as visitors looked on during the two days.
Other members demonstrating their work included Joanne Stewart who is to see one of her pieces of contemporary artwork displayed in London exhibition in June.
A group spokesman said: “It was probably our busiest, most successful exhibition with well over 200 visitors throughout the weekend.
“It certainly had a very lively atmosphere while I was painting there!”
YouTube videos of artists Claire Botterill and Estelle Robinson have been produced in the wake of the display.
