BRADGATE Park is running a full programme of events throughout June.

Charity walks that take place on Saturday and Sunday this weekend with the Rotary Club of Leicester, and a shorter three and a half to five mile walk at the park with the Bushby Lions.

It is also the Wildlife Weekend over the same dates, which brings many of the country’s natural history groups together to give talks and take part in other activities on the fields by the Deer Barn, in the centre of the park.

Following this will be a performance of Wuthering Heights at the ruins of Bradgate House.

The production will be staged by Chapter House Theatre Company and will kick off the summer season of theatre and performances on Sunday June 26. There will also be a Proms Concert on Sunday July 7, and a performance of Sherlock Holmes Hound of the Baskervilles on Sunday August 14.

Peter Tyldesley, director of the Bradgate Park Trust, said: “June is a month when we are celebrating the rich wildlife and heritage of our site with the day ramble with a ranger being a real chance for our visitors that want a closer look to go behind the scenes.

“We are also thrilled to have the support of local groups who are supporting the work of our charity and helping us raise vital funds to develop great new resources for our visitors, such as the Visitor Centre which opens in July. The Rotary Club of Leicester has raised significant funds for this. We are also thrilled to welcome the University of Leicester Archaeology Field School to the site for three weeks of studies, helping us learn more about the heritage of the park.”
