Concert’s joyful noise for two good causes

-

A CONCERT in aid of Hinckley Homeless Group and St Mary’s Church clock and carillon restoration fund will be held in the town centre church on Saturday at 7pm for a 7.30pm start.

Soprano Kirsty Michele Anderson, pianist Stephen Waterhouse and a cappella choir Accord! will be taking to the stage at St Mary’s with a programme ranging from Puccini to Gilbert and Sullivan, madrigals to Gershwin.

The talented performers all have links with the borough.

Soprano Kirsty will this summer be appearing in Hampstead Garden Opera’s production of Pagliacci and returning to Westminster Opera as Gianetta in L’elisir d’amore.

Pianist Stephen has been musical director for popular shows at Hinckley’s Concordia Theatre and Accord! was formed in 2009 by friends in the area who shared a passion for performing unaccompanied vocal music.

Tickets cost £9 for adults on the door or £7 in advance from the church coffee bar, or £5 for children.

The price includes interval refreshments but wine will be for sale before the concert and during the interval.

Hinckley Homeless Group runs Lawrence House, Hinckley’s only hostel for homeless young people.

The church clock and carillon fund is paying for the restoration of its musical timepiece which will soon be sounding the hours for all the town to hear.
