Gold glory for young trampoliner

-

TWO young members of Hinckley Trampoline Club competed at the Barclaycard Arena in Birmingham for the regional team championships with glory going to one.

This was a national competition, for which the best in the country had qualified, and Amy Dronfield and Dylan Impey had qualified to represent the East Midlands.

A club spokesman said: “Amy Dronfield was competing in National Development Plan (NDP) 1 in the 11-12 years girls category. She did brilliantly for her first national competition and finished sixth, out of 21.

“Dylan Impey competed in NDP 3, in the 9-10 years boys category and did two amazing routines. He gained some extremely high scores and finished in first place. Dylan gained his gold medal by finishing in front of his competitors by four whole points. This is a fantastic achievement for Dylan, who has really pushed himself this year and competed in a grade two levels higher than last year.”

By finishing in the top eight, Amy and Dylan have both qualified for the national finals, which take place in Telford on July 9.

Members of the club are currently fundraising and looking for possible sponsorships for new equipment and training and competition wear. The club have recently been sponsored by Hinckley and Rugby Building Society to enable them to buy new club T-shirts for all members.

Anyone who can help should contact the club direct.
