Older people have more experience and that makes them a better judge!

-

OKAY so now I am really fed up with the whingeing sniffling remainers.

They are the only ones putting forward negative comments in their bid to win favour of a young and naive population, and as for Shyfox who incidently doesn’t reveal their identity or age, maybe because they are one of the above, I take great exception to the comments about the older generation, whom I may add have had more experience in their lifetime than most, which in my mind makes them the better judge!

I am 65 and haven’t lived through the trouble and strife of those that are older than myself, they have been through two world wars, means tests, rationing and in later years high interest rates and at one particular time (Black Wednesday) interest was at 20% plus!

But we came out the other end okay.

Have we forgotten in this year of the 100 years commemoration, all the thousands of men, women and some children who lost their lives fighting for our independence, some of whom were the same age as the youth who demand a vote - trust me you haven’t seen life as it is and now need to remove the rose coloured glasses from your eyes.

These soldiers and brave men are the ones who put the Great in Britain, so why do people want to just hand our country over to a money grabbing European Union?

Do you not want to keep your identity because myself and 17 million others do, and by the way when you blame the older generation remember there are not 17 million of them in the country.

So as for the ones who voted leave, they too have families, do you not think they voted for a better future for themselves and their children, both my sons age 47 and 35 have families and they and their wives voted leave.

So the threat of house prices drop- ping, is that not a good thing as it will enable the younger generation to be able to afford to buy properties.

The Euro drops in value so what, more people will holiday in this country and that can only be good for us as the money stays here and not abroad.

The more that holiday here the more jobs will become vacant to cope with demand, so you see it’s not all doom and gloom and that is only a couple of examples.

It’s all about getting our sovereignty back and being optimistic about the future and strength of our country, united we stand divided we fall, so stop all the petty fighting and arguing instead let’s all pull together and make this country great again.

I think it’s now time to shut up and put up, we have had the referendum the people have spoken end of. So let’s just get on with positivity and not negativity. Lynne Langley via email
