We don’t want to be dictated to from abroad anymore

-

WITH reference to the letter in The Hinckley Times last week from Shyfox - the youngsters did have their say on the EU referendum. The eligible ones voted didn’t they? Unless, of course they didn’t bother to register to vote.

As a member of the older generation I found this letter very insulting - this person obviously has no respect for the older person. I hope he reaches our stage of life and realises that older people aren’t all dilapidated and past it. They certainly don’t need to read such derogatory comments. When I was younger I respected the older generation. Also that generation had fought a world war to keep our independence.

We were considering our grandchildren when voting - we want a better country for them.

Not one where we are being dictat- ed to from abroad. It would be nice to think that when they reach working age there is a job for them and that migrants are not taking so many jobs thus reducing the availability of jobs for our own.

It would also be a better country if so much of our taxes didn’t go to the EU and for housing and benefits for these people. Yes Shyfox I do pay taxes - might be past it, according to you, but I still have to pay them.

Maybe our health service wouldn’t be struggling so much if it wasn’t for the influx of so many foreign people.

I don’t believe in the myth that only older people voted for Brexit - in fact I know quite a few young people who did.

Oh and by the way I don’t read the Daily Express!

Name and address supplied POUND collapsing, European and American holidays unaffordable, rest of the world thinks we are idiots, house prices falling, inflation rising, pensions and investment funds will soon give nothing, big investors moving out, recession on the way, choice of one nation to live in..

A great result of the referendum! Greta Cooper
