Panto auditions at seasonal show for budding stage stars
STARSTRUCK young singers and dancers are being offered the chance to earn a spot in one of the region’s top seasonal shows.
Budding performers from the Hinckley and Bosworth area can show off this skills in auditions for rolls in the panto chorus for the Coventry Belgrade’s panto.
The borough’s talented youngsters have traditionally done well in the casting sessions, with one dance academy pupil, Morgan Jenkins, making it into the lineup the last three years in a row.
For this year’s pantomime Dick Whittington the theatre will be holding auditions for three teams of eight for the panto chorus plus one team of reserves on Sunday September 4 from 9.45am.
The auditions, which are for nine to 16 year olds only, will begin promptly at 10am. Parents are asked to bring children to the Belgrade Theatre foyer for 9.45am.
On arrival, children will be numbered against their registration form and sorted into groups based on age and height. The choreographer will then take each group in turn and teach them a short routine which will be presented to writer/ director Iain Lauchlan.
Selection rounds will follow. Children should wear comfortable shoes and clothing and at least one parent, guardian or nominated person must wait with each child. Unaccompanied children will not be eligible to audition on the day.
Although not essential although applicants are encouraged to pre-register their interest online via the Belgrade Theatre website at www.belgrade.co.uk
Dick Whittington runs from Wednesday Nov 23 2016 to Saturday Jan 7 2017.
