Selfie addict in 60-day ban for charity

Jodie admits to taking up to 10 selfies a day

JODIE Carnall is often told by friends and family that she takes too many selfies.

While the 24-year-old would never admit it - despite taking up to 10 selfies a day - she has decided to go on a 60-day photo ban to raise money for charity.

The former Take Me Out contestant will not take a single selfie for two months from August 21 to raise funds for The Brain Tumour Charity.

It is a cause very close to Jodie’s heart after her aunt was diagnosed with a brain tumour last year.

Jodie, from Hinckley, said: “This is a fun, person- al challenge for me as my friends and family always joke and tell me off for uploading too many selfies.

“My sister and I were thinking about what I could do as a personal challenge to raise money, and we both said a ‘selfie ban’ straight away in sync.

“Everybody who knows me will see the funny side and I’m sure all of my Facebook friends will really enjoy their news feeds without my selfies every day.

“It will be hard, but I’m up for the challenge.”

The National Grid supervisor hoped to raise £200 overall, but within days of launching her fundraising mission she has already dwarfed her tar- get.

She added: “It’s amazing how much support I’ve had already, the challenge hasn’t even started yet.

“I know people might think my selfie ban sounds silly, but what’s important to remember is that the money is going to a charity close to my family and friends hearts and helping to make a difference for others.”

She said her colleague, Toni Bowie, who has raised around £16,000 for The Brain Tumour Charity, inspired her to get involved.

Brian tumours are the biggest cancer killers in children and adults under the age of 40, but only 2% of the money raised for cancer research goes to funding tumours.
