Host a bin to help fund children’s hospice

-

BUSINESSES across the borough are getting involved in a Where’s It Bin? scheme in support of Rainbows Hospice.

Burbage-based Northfield Wealth Management and Hinckley’s branch of Coventry Building Society in Hinckley have signed up to the scheme to raise money for the Loughborough based hospice for children and young people.

Firms, organisations and clubs taking part in Where’s It Bin? will receive three cheery-faced, coloured wheelie bins - named Barry, Bertie and Betty - to keep on site for one week.

They are encouraged to fill them with unwanted but saleable goods which will be used as stock for Rainbows charity shops.

The bins are delivered and collected by Rainbows, so all supporters have to do is donate their pre-loved goods.

The scheme has already generated £20,000.

Rainbows corporate partnership fundraiser Tom Stanyard said: “The bins are always looking for somewhere new to visit and the idea of keeping the collection bins at the workplace or an office is so people who want to donate their unwanted items don’t have to go out of their way to do so.

“Whether you’re a team of three or 300, you could help make a huge difference by filling a bin with your unwanted items.”
