Live music will help two day cider festival go with a banger

-

TWO days of live music is lined up as part of the forthcoming Hinckley Sausage and Cider Festival.

The festival is set to return to the town over the August Bank Holiday weekend.

And a full programme of bands and singers has been lined up for a sizzling weekend of entertainment.

On the Saturday, August 27, The Hannah Faulkner Band will be playing their mixture of pop, rock, funk and soul.

The Oscillators, a rocking, rolling, blues band fronted by guitar hero Krissy Matthews, will take to the stage as will Greg Coulson, a livewire bluesman described as “one to watch” by Blues Magazine.

And female-fronted four-piece The Vogons will play covers of classic hits.

Then on Sunday August 28 acoustic duo Sam and Pete are to perform, followed by Distorted Decade, a rocking three piece covers band.

A spokesman for the event organisers said: “We have plenty to delight the ears, and the tastebuds too.

“As well as live music, we will have 30 plus real ciders, and great sausages.

“All ciders are sourced from artisan producers around the country, and local makers, and there will be bottled sparkling craft cider from CiderBods.

“Artisans will be selling smoked hot dogs, sausage wraps, boerwors, cheese and chorizo toasties, artisan coffee and fiery chilli bites, gluten-free sausages and vegetarian food available.

“There will be ice cream, a giant slide and other inflatable fun for children.”
