Awards are driving TMS sales
HINCKLEY-BASED Volvo dealership TMS Hinckley has been boosted by the success of the Swedish manufacturer after its range landed a number of industry awards.
In just one month, Volvo has been presented with five separate awards, which focus on technology, quality and safety, beating some tough competition with a range of cars that are proving popular with Hinckley drivers.
Len Hallows from TMS Hinckley said: “With renowned safety, quality and dependability, and a new-found style and desirability, the latest Volvo range is certainly making an impact on our local customers – new and long-standing.
“For all the awards coming in, we’re seeing more cars going out of the showroom to lots of happy customers, taking home their award-winning Volvo from an award-winning manufacturer.”
Just two weeks ago, the XC90 was named the Car Dealer Power Car of the Year 2016, as voted for by hundreds of independent and franchised dealers across the UK.
For the second year running, the XC90 was also awarded Best Large SUV by consumer champions Auto Express.
At this year’s Motor Trader Awards – one of the biggest on the retail motor industry calendar – Jodie Kidd presented Volvo’s acting managing director, Jon Wakefield, with awards in two hotly contested categories – New Car of the Year (for the XC90) and Carmaker of the Year.
More recently, and available now from TMS Hinckley’s impressive Volvo Selekt Approved Used Car programme, the Volvo V40 was presented the Co-op Safe Used Car 2016 award.
The inaugural Co-op Insurance award celebrates the safest used cars typically bought by families in the UK, including those in Hinckley.
The V40 was one of the first cars to have autonomous emergency braking as standard.
The system, known as City Safety, works at speeds of up to 31mph and will automatically apply the brakes if it senses an impending crash to avoid the collision entirely or lessen its severity.
