Best GCSE grades ever for Bosworth Academy’s students
PUPILS at Bosworth Academy in Desford bucked the national trend and pulled off the best results the school has ever seen across the board.
Maths, English, sciences, humanities, computing and arts subjects were all considerably up on last year’s already strong scores.
Principal Chris Parkinson said: “We are utterly delighted with our students’ performance this year. An incredible number have made progress way beyond what they ever thought possible when they joined us two years ago. Our motto - be better than you thought you could be - has been accepted as a challenge by students and staff and they have risen to that challenge. If you could give out Olympic medals for GCSE’s, I’d need far more than our successful GB team.”
Some of the individual achievements include Harsh Patel’s four A*s six As and one B, Olivia Timperley’s five A*s and five As, Kean Derbyshire’s two A*s, six As and one B and one C and Imogen Phillips’ one A* and 9 As.
Among a clutch of great results Curtis Hewins was most proud of his A in history which he said was better than he could ever have hoped for.
Mum, Tammy Hewins, said: “He put in a tremendous effort and it paid off.” Curtis’s results include four A*s, two As, three Bs and a C.
The family will continue the celebration of success with a meal out at their favourite restaurant.
Harsh Patel is continuing his education at Bosworth Academy sixth form.
He said: “I’m really pleased with my results and hope to eventually become a surgeon.”
