A SOUL singing sensation is set to perform at a Hinckley bar this Sunday.

The newly-refurbished Regent on Lancaster Road is hosting a “special lunch extravaganza” from 2pm to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Andy ‘ The Soul Man’ Pierce will take to the stage to entertain guests and he will be supported by Astrid Di Gregorio, who recently won rave reviews in the Concordia Youth Theatre’s production of Rock of Ages.

Pierce has been per- forming for almost two decades, starting at the age of 11 in a production of Oliver! when he played the Artful Dodger.

He went on to star in shows across the world, before becoming a DJ at a bar in Ayia Napa, where his highly-rated show, The Soul Man, is in its sixth year.

He has recently returned to Burbage, where he lives with his partner Jen and their young son Leo.

Luke Thomas, director of the Regent, said: “This really will be a fantastic day and we are delighted to have someone of Andy’s calibre singing at The Regent.

“We are also pleased to have Astrid on the bill, and while only in her teens she has a superb voice.

“We hope people will come out in force to enjoy lunch, some top music and more importantly, raise funds and the profile of a charity which does so much for so many people.

“Sadly, most families have been affected by cancer, so anything we can do to help sufferers and their relatives is a bonus.’’

Any other acts wanting to take part can contact Luke on 07938 575051.
