Bank work experience

-

STUDENTS from a Hinckley sixth form centre have completed a six week work placement at a major bank

Santander’s Leicester office opened its doors to pupils from John Cleveland Sixth Form Centre as part of its summer work experience programme.

The paid work placements are designed to improve students’ employment prospects and form part of the bank’s support for educational charity Career Ready.

Rea Wilson is one of five students who recently completed the placement. She said: “I really enjoyed my time at Santander and it’s been really useful in helping me to plan my future career.

“Through this experience I’ve been able to get used to the working environment, grow my confidence and get a better idea of the full range of opportunities available to me once I leave school.”

Emma Clayton, branch manager at Santander in Leicester, added: “We believe that it is important to offer students the opportunity to gain first-hand experience of a working environment so that they have the knowledge and confidence to make the best start to their career.

“The work placements provide students with the chance to develop their understanding of the variety of opportunities available to them. We hope this will help them to broaden their horizons, whatever they choose to do in their careers.”
