IN the Premier Division of the Hinckley and District Sunday league, teams were playing in the new County FA Premier Cup competitio­n.

In the Sunday Premier Cup, Sporting Dynamo travelled to Avin a Laugh United and came away with a 6-2 win courtesy of goals from Rich Lewis (2), Sam Hankin, Kyle Croxall and Nathan McCalliste­r. Tin Hat 2015 entertaine­d Mowmacre and Hoskins and after being four down at half time and without a recognised keeper, Marley Henry (2), Josh Johnson and Russell Shulz pulled the game back to 4-4 before Tin Hat were reduced to nine men. Mowmacre pushed on to win the game 6-4. Cross Keys found themselves up against a strong Froleswort­h United side and a goal down at half-time, the visitors pushed on in the second half to gain a 5-1 win. Taz Taylor was the Cross Keys scorer.

In the Sunday Premier Shield, Stoke Golding travelled to FC Britannia and came away with a creditable 3-0 win with goals coming from Danny Wilson (2) and Cole Gibbons.

In Division One there was a rematch from last season’s President’s Shield as FC Bulls Head travelled to Athletico Green and the outcome was the same. Debutant Andy Wakefield opened. the scoring and Sam Eaton extended the lead. Striker Kyle Andrews completed the scoring, heading home a free-kick from Allan Hayton to make the final score 3-0 to Bulls Head. Sporting Dynamo Reserves entertaine­d Ullesthorp­e and were convincing winners. Scott Cockram (3), Jake Poole and Harry Taylor the scorers.

Division Two’s results this week suggest it’s going to be a tight division. Coalville Miners entertaine­d Wykin and goals from Chris Booton and Steve Goodman-Hamlett gave Wykin a narrow 2-1 lead at the break. The hosts hit back and won an entertaini­ng game 3-2 goals coming from Daniel Edwards, Gavin Edwards and Michael Pickering. LK United won 2-1 at Anchor Inn. A brace from Nathan Earle gave LK an early lead and despite a second half goal from Anchor’s Tom Clark and constant pressure, they held on to take the points. Newstock took the points from their game with MP Steels. Daniel Toone gave MP a 2-0 lead at half time only for Newstock to benefit from tactical changes which allowed Lewis Smith to grab a hattrick. Royal Oak Bitteswell travelled to Est Lord Nelson and two Anthony Read goals gave them a narrow 2-1 half time lead. The hosts recovered in the second half to record a 4-2 win.

In Division Three performanc­e of the day was Stanton United’s home win against new boys Red Lion Barwell, 7-0 winners thanks to goals from Ramzi Puttock Green, Callum Needham, Josh Leadbetter, Lewis Poulter, Kyle Olner and super sub Jake Vineham (2). Stoke Golding Reserves upped their previous week’s performanc­e against the same opponents Holywell but still went down to the only goal of the game for Holywell from Aaron Borbers. Weavers Power had Steve Wright, Leon Simmons and James Gee (2) on target in their 4-1 win against FC Barn after a Matt Wright goal had given Barn the lead. Stoneycrof­t went to Totes Hilar and came away with a 4-1 win. Two up at the break, goals from Angus Richards, Alex Franklin, Haydn Read (pen) and Bradley Ball gave them the points.
