Information events for apprenticeships
EMPLOYERS across the borough who want to learn more about offering apprenticeships can sign up to breakfast information events at North Warwickshire and Hinckley College.
The sessions are being organised to encourage businesses to consider providing more places for apprentices amid their growing popularity.
A new report from Barclays and the Centre for Economics and Business Research (CEBR) reveals apprentices who gained qualifications in the arts, media and publishing industries specifically, are earning up to 270% more than their fellow graduates
Reacting, Debbie Scotton, business development manager from North Warwickshire and Hinckley College, said: “This report is further evidence that apprenticeships are establishing themselves as a valid and effective route to a successful career. Gone are the outdated stereotypes of a male-dominated learning route with narrow career options. Apprenticeships cover a huge range of sectors and are ideal for anybody who wants to earn a wage as they work towards a nationally recognised qualification.
“From an employer’s perspective, apprenticeships are the ideal, costeffective way to train current and new staff members. As a result of consistent work experience apprentices are ahead of the game compared to their peers, not only possessing the relevant qualifications but also the softer skills employers really need within their business - adaptability, positive attitudes and behaviours and the ability to think critically and logically.”
