Sporting still unbeaten

SPORTING Dynamo were in action in the County Sunday Premier Cup and they maintained their 100% start to the season with a 2-1 win over Oadby Owls, their goals coming from Fisher and McAllister. FC Topps travelled to The Sports Bar Anstey and were on the wrong end of a 7-2 defeat, McNally and Orton their scorers.

In the County Premier Shield, Stoke Golding won 1-0 through a Danny Wilson goal against AFC Charnwood. Duke of Rutland entertaine­d Sileby Athletic and were unlucky to lose a tight game 4-3. Lee Lovett (2) and Connor Pugh on the scoresheet. Andseh Matharu’s header gave Market Bosworth the lead against FC Brittannia who hit back to lead 3-1 at the break. Calum Duncan and Tom Alesbrook ensured a 3-3 draw for the Town.

In Hardy and Draper Carpets Division One Leaders FC Bulls Head were made to work hard for the three points as they entertaine­d Sporting Dynamo Reserves. Goalless at the break, an 18 yard effort from Simeon Davis broke the deadlock and Ryan Brightwell increased the lead only for a Chandler goal for Sporting to make things tight at the end. It was goalless at half time too at Dunton & Broughton but goals from Jake Chadburn and Kane McAteer gave Thurlaston Magpies the lead only for Steve Oliff to reduce the deficit. Athletico Green went down 4-3 at Ullesthorp­e despite goals from Ben Wight and Keiran Etheridge (2). Three Horseshoes beat Topps Reserves 7-1 in the other game.

In the PWS (Leicester) Limited Division Two the two top teams met at Winstanley School and it was Nathan Earl who gave LK United the lead in the first half when his shot eluded the Plough Inn keeper. Tom Stokes equalised before half-time with a header and Jamie Dexter wrapped things up for the Plough when he latched on to a long free kick to win the game 2-1. Miners Arms Coalville had been unbeaten in the league but they faced an EST Lord Nelson side who won the honours on the day from a 5-3 win, one of the goals coming from Josh Brown. Scorers for Miners were Daniel Edwards (2) and Tom Powers. Wykin FC are starting to find some form and they easily saw off Royal Oak Bitteswell 7-0. A first half hat-trick from Steve Goodman-Hamlett plus goals from Lloyd Henry, Chris Booton and Matt Broughton gave them a six goal half time lead. Broughton added his second in the second half. MP Steel and Newstock Rangers were level at the break after Daniel Toone’s strike for MP had been cancellled out by a penalty from centre half Paul Wallace. Goals from Jarvis, Smith and Hoult in the second period won Newstock the points.

There was another top two clash in the Printing Works Division Three as Stanton United OB saw off Stoneycrof­t 2-0. Callum Needham and Ramzi Puttock Green scored the goals in the first period. The Holywell are also unbeaten and they shared the points from a 3-3 draw at Barlestone Athletic. Holroyd, Bennett and Collins for the hosts with Chris Borber (2) and Matty Sales replying courtesy of two assists from Craig Brightless. Stoke Golding Reserves went 2 up at AFC Barn through first half goals from Matt Tweddle and Kaine Finch. Lewis King replied in the 2nd half but Golding won the points from a 2-1 win.
