End of season finale
THE 2016 season at Burbage Constitutional Bowls Club came to an end with a fantastic day for members at this year’s presidents day
As well as some fine performances from players there was an opportunity to show off the latest piece of greenkeeping equipment, supplied by sponsor Eco Window Systems.
A new club competition this year entitled the Memorial Triples Cup was won by On the Jack made up of Pete Bednell, Lila Wright and Doug Chandler while runners-up were Wickers World a team consisting of Gary Lucas, Denise Lucas and Nigel Davies.
In the men’s competition winners were:
Club Championship - Nigel Davies with runner-up Richard Lis
Maiden winner - Mike Wilebore with runner-up John Engleman
Handicap winner - Barry Davies with runner-up Frank Muston
Two wood winner - Barry Wright with runner-up Nigel Davies
Two wood pairs winners - Rob O’Brien and Doug Chandler with runners-up Pete Bednell and Frank Muston
Four wood pairs winners - Pete Bednell and Frank Muston with runners-up Merv Perkins and Albert Wright.

Maiden winner - Naomi Pegg with runner-up Glynne Wilson

Two wood winner - Joy Penfold with runner-up Margaret Bednell
Pairs winners - Margaret Bednell and Rita Moore with trunner-ups Kathy Botting and Joy Penfold
Mixed pairs winners - Lila Wright and Richard List with runner-up Glynne Wilson and Tony Hardwell.
