Don’t forget to donate towards town toy appeal

-

WITH Christmas just around the corner, residents are being urged to put a smile on a child’s face by donating to the town’s toy appeal.

The annual appeal launched last month, with toy appeal bins placed in schools, nurseries, supermarkets and businesses.

Generous residents can donate new toys and food so that the teams at Hinckley’s Sure Start and the Food Bank can provide some much needed sparkle by supporting families who would otherwise miss out at Christ- mas. Toy and gift donations are welcomed for children aged from birth up to 16, while dried and tinned foods are also needed.

The appeal has been launched by the Sure Start centre alongside Worklink, Hinckley Food Bank, Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council and the Salvation Army. It is also supported by The Hinckley Times.

Last year more than 440 children received a toy from the appeal, while growing numbers of families rely on food banks and community support to survive Christmas.

Donations must be made by the end of November, with bins placed at Morrisons, Asda, Tesco, Woodlands Garden Centre, The Hinckley Hub, Westfield Infants, Barwell Academy, St Bernard’s Day Nursery, Shooting Stars Nursery, Windmill Day Nursery, Burbage Day Nursery, Hinckley and Rugby Building Society and Baby Dolly.
