Fourth family fun day at Magna Park
FAMILIES flocked to an action-packed event aimed at building community ties.
The fourth annual ID Gazeley fun day took place at Magna Park with a host of entertainment as well as an exhibition on the history of the site as Bitteswell Aerodrome during the Second World War leading up to its evolution as one of the biggest employment complexes in the region.
Among the activities were face painting, bouncy castles, mountain biking, family amusements and fairground rides as well as a complimentary hog roast and drinks.
Harborough FM provided music and entertainment for all attendees, while families could explore parts of Magna Wood on the Woodland nature trail.
This event is one of a number of initiatives undertaken by IDI Gazeley on behalf of the employees and local community that surround Magna Park.
The company has also set up the Magna Park Community Fund, which supports local charities and projects including most recently a donation to Maisie Elliot to attend the International Children’s Games in Taiwan.
IDI Gazeley was recently given planning permission to build a new superhub for parcel giant DHL and it has an application pending for a further expansion of warehousing, as well as provision of a college specialising in logistics.
Gwyn Stubbings, the firm’s planning director, said: “It was great to see so many people from the local community and further afield coming together to enjoy a day with their families at Magna Park.
“The event has been hugely popular year on year and thanks to the support of a number of local businesses we were delighted to host another successful fun day.”
