Vote for charity

-

AN ELDERLY charity catering for those living in a Leicestershire town is asking people to help them take their message across the area.

The newly formed Agewise Blaby District wants residents to vote for them for a share of £5,000 from a community fund.

Organised and run by Aviva, the fund offers the chance for community projects to win funding.

Agewise wants the cash to promote the group by taking the meetings around the district to reach the more isolated members of the community.

Funding would also help the group undertake a range of activities, including guest speakers, campaigns, training and events that residents of all ages can benefit from.

Formerly the Over 50s Forum, Agewise became independent of the Council in May 2016 and have begun on their own path to help residents of the district enjoy happy, healthy and independent lives.

The Community Fund asks people to award 10 votes to their favourite causes. Voting closes on Friday November 18 with the winners announced in January 2017.

Registration is quick and simple with the opportunity to vote for any group up to 10 times.
