Ugly sister Josh stars in festive pantomime show
Hinckley lad takes Civic Hall stage by storm
YOU might think its unusual for a six foot one rugby fan to wear a dress - but Josh Smith is taking the pantomime world by storm.
The 24-year-old, from Hinckley, is playing Dame Norah, one of the Ugly Sisters in Cinderella at The Civic Hall in Bedworth.
The former John Cleve- land College student has appeared in five previous pantomimes at the Warwickshire venue before, but this is his most challenging role so far .
He said: “This certainly is a different challenge from previous pantomimes but is great fun especially with all of the audience interaction.
“Wearing a dress is different and my mother thinks I make a great woman – which is quite worrying.
“But it is really fantastic to be able to work with a partner in the shape of Steve Kray, the other Ugly Sister.
“I may well play a Dame again, but in a few years.”
Josh, whose stage name is Joshua Lloyd, is playing alongside Steve Kray, who has hundreds of appearances as a dame under his corset in a 23 year theatri- cal career.
Cinderella runs until Tuesday December 27.
Adult tickets cost £14.50, and £11.50 for concessions, under 16s and OAPs with family tickets at £45.
Family Super Saturday and Sunday tickets cost £40 and £11 for schools and community groups.
