Check out changes to services at Christmas

COUNCIL and other public services will be operating for reduced hours or under special arrangemen­ts during the Christmas and New Year period.

Here are some of the services subject to change:

Royal Mail Hinckley delivery office on Station Road will open from 6.30am to 5.30pm through the week and from 6.30am until 3pm on Christmas Eve.

Earl Shilton delivery office on Oaks Way will open from 6.30am until 5pm through the week and from 6.30am until 3pm on Christmas Eve.

Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council

Services at Hinckley Hub will close at 4.30pm on Friday December 23 and re-open on Wednesday December 28 at 8.30am.

There will be no borough council services at Hinckley Hub on Monday January 2 2017.

Emergency calls to the council on those days should be made to Hinckley 251137.

Hinckley Leisure Centre Will close at noon on Christmas Eve (last admission at 11am) and reopen at 6.30am on Wednesday December 28.

From then until Friday December 30 centre opening hours will be from 6.30am to 7pm.

The centre will close at noon on New Year’s Eve (last admission 11am) and remain closed on New Year’s Day.

It will open as usual from Monday January 2 2017 onwards.

Christmas Markets There will be a market daily until Christmas Eve but no market on Monday December 26 or Monday January 2 2017.

Markets will resume on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays from Friday January 6 2017.

Refuse & Recycling All garden waste (brown bin) collection­s will be suspended for two weeks from Tuesday December 20 until Monday January 2 2017, after which they will begin again as usual.

Community Houses Barwell, Earl Shilton and Gwendoline Community Houses are now closed for Christmas.

Pharmacies & Health Care Pharmacies across the borough will be closed on Christmas Day.

On Boxing Day, Asda pharmacy on Barwell Lane, Hinckley, will open from 9am until 6pm and Boots pharmacy on Stockwell Head, Hinckley, will open from 10am until 4pm.

On December 27 Asda pharmacy will open from 9am until 6pm and Boots pharmacy will open from 10am until 4pm.

On New Year’s Day, Asda pharmacy will open from 10am until 1pm and from 1.30pm until 4pm Boots pharmacy will open from 10am until 4pm, Cohens Chemist in Castle Mead medical centre on Hill Street, Hinckley, will open from 10am until 8pm and HBS pharmacy in Burbage Surgery on Tilton Road, Burbage, will open from noon until 10pm.

On January 2 2017 Asda pharmacy will open from 9am until 6pm and Boots pharmacy will open from 10am until 4pm.
