Extra dates announced for The Twits at the Curve

-

AFTER phizz-whizzing demand, The Curve Theatre has unveiled extra dates for the classic Roald Dahl tale The Twits.

The beloved children’s story hits the city centre theatre over the Christmas period, with dates running from now until Saturday January 21.

The family-friendly story tells of Mr Twit, who has a very hairy face. His beard is spiky and smelly and contains corn- flakes, sardines and even some stilton.

Mrs Twit is equally as foul and she hates Mr Twit just as much as Mr Twit hates her.

The tale depicts the story of the couple, who also happen to be one of the most spiteful and revolting you could ever hope to meet.

They spend their days playing wicked tricks on each other and mistreating MuggleWump monkeys.

However, their days are numbered as the monkeys have a cunning plan to teach those terrible twits a lesson.

Directed by Max Webster, The Curve’s mischievous new coproduction with Rose Theatre Kingston promises to be just as disgusting and repulsive as earth worms disguised as spaghetti – the perfect Christmas treat for all the family.

Curve chief executive Chris Stafford said: “Due to popular demand, we are thrilled our coproduction of The Twits will play for an extra week at Curve this Christmastime before going on a national tour.

“Max Webster’s production promises to be a treat for everyone and we are delighted to be able to share our work with audiences across the UK, establishing Curve’s reputation as a leading touring producer.”

The Twits is the second Made at Curve Christmas show to tour. Created specifically for young people and their families, The Twits follows the unprecedented success of Nikolai Foster’s production of The Witches.

The productions are programmed to coincide with the Dahl 100 anniversary.
