Vital to make views known on NHS plans
PEOPLE are being urged to engage with any future healthcare consultation as proposals emerge for remodelling NHS services across the borough.
Both Bosworth MP David Tredinnick and Councillor Mike Hall, leader of Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council, are calling on residents to have their say.
The plea comes as Sustainability and Transformation Plans (STP) are being published for both Leicestershire and Coventry and Warwickshire as the NHS looks to cope with increased demand but tighter budg- ets
Wide-ranging changes, including the likely closure of Hinckley and District Hospital, reduction in community hospital in-patient beds and possible review of emergency care will all directly impact people in the borough.
Any revision however, must go through a public consultation process first, hence the top level appeal for interaction.
Mr Tredinnick said: “When I look at these proposals my priority is to ensure key health services are retained locally and there are modern, fit for purpose facilities which provide the best quality care for local residents. I believe these proposals go some way to achieving this but it is more important what local people think, so I urge as many people as possible to take part in the NHS consultation on these plans.”
Cllr Mike Hall said: “I join David Tredinnick in encouraging local people to carefully consider all of the STP proposals affecting our area and make their views known during the forthcoming consultation period.”
