Inspectors give permission

DEVELOPERS who were refused planning permission for a scheme to divvy up the back gardens of three homes in Burbage and build four new properties have won their appeal.

A Government inspector agreed with agents Tyler Parkes that the scheme would not impact negatively on neighbours.

It means the project off Burbage Road, by Dash Homes, which was initially dismissed by Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council planning committee councillors in May, will go ahead.

Planning officers at the authority had recommended the bid for approval but councillors disagreed, saying the backland development was overly prominent and would harm the character of the area, spoiling amenties for existing householders.

For the appeal Tyler Parkes submitted a new noise survey confirming there would be no impact on the immediate neighbours.

The inspector accorded with this view and allowed the appeal.

The decision grants Dash permission to subdivide the long back gardens of numbers 25, 27 and 29 in Burbage Road.

The plan is then to build homes.

The development will also see the creation of new single garages for two of the properties giving up garden space.

The application was unpopular among local residents and Burbage Parish Council but was revised from the original scheme.

That was submitted back in February 2016 and was for five homes.

The appeal statement outlined how the scheme was cut from five properties to four to allow increased separation distance from adjacent homes in Elm Tree Drive and provide the new properties with larger garden plots. four detached
