THE FAMILY of a “goldenhearted” woman who died of cancer have raised money for a “phenomenal” hospice which cared for their loved one in the final moments.

Jane Helen Mcnulty, from Earl Shilton, died at Loros Hospice in Leicester on December 1 last year, aged 48.

She leaves behind two children, one grandchild, four siblings and five nieces and nephews.

Her family were so moved by the love and care shown by staff at the hospice that they raised £800 to say thank you.

Niece Jayne Marvin and personal trainer Tanjia Feary held a 30 minute fitness class at Stoneycroft Sports and Social Club, in Earl Shilton, two days before her funeral at St Peter and St Paul’s Roman Catholic Church in the town on December 23.

The class was followed by a raffle with items donated by scores of borough businesses, a cake sale and a bric a brac stall.

Miss Marvin also held a “festive fundraiser” at her workplace, NJ Screen Prints in Hinckley, where staff donned Christmas hats and jumpers in aid of the hospice.

Sister Patricia Mcnulty, 52, from Earl Shilton, said: “Jane stayed at Loros for two and a half weeks and the love and care they gave her was just out of this world.

“The staff were phenomenal and my daughter (Jayne) and her best friend (Tanjia) just wanted to give something back to say thank you.

“Thank you to all the staff for showing such passionate care to my sister.”

She said Jane will be remembered for her “lovely smile” and described her as the “best auntie in the world”.

She added: “Jane was lovely, she was golden hearted and loved her family so much.

“She spent a lot of time with her nieces and nephews, playing games, cooking with them, they were very close.

“She will be missed by all who knew her.”
