Some games survive weekend weather

HEAVY downpours saw most games in the Bond Street Trophies Premier Division cancelled in the Simply Gym Hinckley and District Sunday League.

But league leaders Sporting Dynamo managed to beat the rain to continue their unbeaten streak against Enderby and District Social Club.

Following two early Dynamo goals, Tom Morris brought Enderby back into the game with a free-kick special.

But Dynamo took the three points after finding a way through the Enderby defence in the final 15 minutes.

Rich Lewis scored a hat-trick, with Dan Harris and Sam Hankin also finding the net to earn a 5-1 victory.

In the Hardy and Draper Carpets Division One, action was limited to FC Topps Reserves getting the better of Dunton and Broughton with a 8-2 home win.

Mark Pratt scooped a hat-trick for Topps and Mark Pratt (3), Kyle Newell (2), Ian McKay, Ben Betteridge and Callum Buswell also scored.

Steve Oliff added the two consolatio­n goals for Dunton in the second half.

In the PWS Leicester ltd Division Two, Plough Inn strengthen­ed their position at the top of table with a 7-0 hammering against EST Lord Nelson.

Goals in the first five minutes from Jamie Dexter, Dave Darragh and Kyle Sperry ensured visitors EST Lord Nelson were on the back foot from the start.

But to their credit they responded well and forced Plough keeper Harry Charlton to make a finger tip save shortly after.

Sperry added a fourth for the Plough with a searing shot from 25 yards to make the score 4-0 at the break.

Lord Nelson tried to find a way back into the game but Charlton again denying them with a couple of fine saves.

But Plough then took control of the game and Jack Morgan chipped the keeper from 35 yards before Sperry scored to more to seal the three points in a game well officiated by Josh Freestone-Smith.

The game between second and third placed teams saw LK United take the spoils from a narrow 3-2 win against Wykin who lost their long unbeaten league run.

Danny Concannon gave LK the lead in the first-half and added a second after the break by chipping in from a Michael Andrews free kick.

Sam Gregg and Ben Harper levelled things for Wykin before Jordan Lever gave LK the points on 82 minutes on his debut.

Coalville Miners continued their good form with a convincing 7-0 win against Anchor Inn.

Losing a player after 15 minutes was a sign of things to come for Anchor and Miners took full advantage with their goals coming from Sam Johnson (3), Dan Edwards, Mark Jamieson, Michael Pickering and Joe Brennan.

Newstock Rangers were on the wrong end of a 5-1 scoreline at Royal Oak Bitteswell.

Chris Read, Richard Mott, Alex Jones, Mark Urch and Grant Jones scored for the Oak, while Dale Fessey provided a consolatio­n goal for Rangers.

In the Printing Works Division Three, Stoneycrof­t United regained top spot after a 3-0 win at Newstock Rangers Reserves.

A Jason Swain penalty gave them a 1-0 lead at the break and second-half goals from Alex Franklin and Jamie Brewin saw them take over at the top on goal difference.

The only other game to survive the rain saw a close contest between Stanton Old Boys and Totes Hilar.

Substitute Dave Leeson, coming off the bench on 82 minutes, bagged the points for Stanton with a winner in the dying moments.
