Salesman is dragged down road in robbery
TWO men have been arrested in connection with a van robbery in Wolvey which left a car salesman with serious injuries.
The victim, a man from North Warwickshire, was dragged 10 metres across the floor after being in a collision with the van following a test drive.
He suffered serious injuries to his leg, torso, head and back. He is currently in a serious but stable condition in hospital, Warwickshire Police said.
The incident happened on January 17 near Galliford Try Construction, on Leicester Road, Wolvey, at just after 2pm.
Officers arrested two men from Market Harborough on January 19 in connection with the incident.
A 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of robbery and a 44-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery.
They were released on police bail while investigations continue, Warwickshire Police said.
Officers appealed for witnesses of anyone with information to get in touch.
A spokesman said: “Two men from Market Harborough arrested on January 19 in connection with a van robbery in Wolvey on January 17 have been bailed by Warwickshire Police while inves- tigations continue.
“A 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of robbery and a 44-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery in connection with the incident on Leicester Road, Wolvey, at around 2pm.
“Both men have been bailed by Warwickshire Police until February while investigations continue.
“The van was in collision with a man from Warwickshire who suffered serious injuries to his leg, torso, head and back. He is currently in a serious but stable condition in hospital.”
In a separate incident, the men were later arrested by Leicestershire Police on suspi- cion of theft of a motor vehicle in Rushey Mead, Leicester, on January 15.
