All health services could remain with some new ones being introduced

-

WITH reference to a letter from John Payne, I am not a fan of MP David Tredinnick however the letter writer either does not understand the facts or just believes what he reads without checking before he writes letters.

It is NHS England that makes the decisions not Mr Tredinnick or the Government; funds come from the Government to NHS England.

I attend many health care meetings regarding the future of Hinckley and Bosworth, the facts are that we have had guarantees that the George Eliot Emergency Department (ED) (A&E) is not closing. Leicester Royal (LRI) ED is undergoing a refurbishment and will be twice as large when finished, so able to accommodate more patients, through, this said, part of the problems LRI ED is facing is up to 40% of patients turn up without life threatening injuries or illnesses, when a call to Urgent Care Centre (phone no 111) may have been in a position to sort out the concern of the patient or their families, so helping the staff in ED to reduce the very high work load at this difficult time.

Regarding Public Consultation and CUTS, there has been a business plan submitted to NHS England and if approved public consultation will take place.

The reason for this is simple CCG staff can only talk at public consultations about the plans once the funding has been approved. However meetings in the area have taken place where the public could attend setting out their ideas for the future of Health Care in Hinckley and Bosworth area, many put forward by the public at previous meetings in 2016. Some additional funding and the STP Team the Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), Partners GPs Federation and Leicester, Leicestershire Rutland Alliance to name a few are working very hard to put these plans in place. If funding is approved by NHS England then Hinckley and Bosworth will see more services, not cuts in services which will be advantageous to the community.

If the plans are not approved then ALL services will remain with some additions.
