Lauren sang with warmth and sincerity

-

RECENTLY, Live at Zedel presented An Evening with Howard Goodall and Lauren Samuels from their art deco/French styled venue Crazy Cogs in Piccadilly.

The Hinckley songstress sang with warmth and sincerity the music of Howard Goodall, composer and lyricist celebrated for over 30 years for his TV themes, film and musicals, this sold out weeks before.

Lauren’s beautiful interpretation of his songs had the audience capsulated, with Nocturnes from Love Story, particularly memorable.

The evening ended on a fun note with her singing the theme tune he had written – Red Dwarf.

During December Lauren was able to announce she would be performing in her first play – La Ronde. Written in 1892 and originally set in Vienna, this version is set in present day south London.

This gender neutral play looks at sexual morals of pairs of characters, with a cast of two male and two female, who play 10 characters. Each night it is decided anew which actor will play which role in each scene. There are 3000 different variations on how the show will play out.

This challenging play takes place at The Bunker, 53a Southwark Street, near London Bridge Underground Station, from 11/2 to 11/3, with eight shows a week including matinees.
