Pool area makeover at luxury hotel spa

-

A HOTEL has given its swimming pool a £50,000 makeover in the latest stage of its major refurbishment project.

Sketchley Grange Hotel and Spa transformed the pool at Romans health Club and reopened the facility before Christmas.

The work involved installing a bright sparkling finish, LED lighting in the pool and ceiling, a new air conditioning unit and a thorough deep clean.

Andy Rudkin, leisure manager at the Burbage hotel said: “We’re delighted with this refurbishment work which has really returned the pool to its former glory.

“We’re also very pleased about the length of time that the pool was out of service – we had initially thought it might be closed for up to two weeks, but it was actually only five days as the contractors doubled the manpower they made available to us.

“We’re very proud to provide this superb facility for our members. They’ve given us overwhelmingly positive feedback about the work, and we look forward to welcoming new and returning members as local people become aware of the work we’ve done to enhance the facilities here.”

Romans Health Club features a 17ft swimming pool, heated whirlpool, pool-side loungers, Cedar Wood sauna and aromatic steam room. The hotel also offers an array of spa treatments and a hairdressing salon.

The gym was also given a refurbishment in May last year which saw Precor 830i and Concept2 exercise equipment installed, including treadmills, elliptical cross trainers, bikes, rowing machines and weight machines.
