Celebration as midwifery clinic’s move to brand new premises goes without a bump

-

A MIDWIFERY service in Hinckley has relocated to a new, refurbished building after outgrowing its old site.

Tummy2mummy transferred its facilities from Hill Street into a new premises in New Street.

The flagship clinic features two large scan rooms, a treatment room, two classrooms and a big reception which will allow the firm to expand its services in line with increasing demand.

Services include various scans, first aid classes, baby massage techniques and free parenting lessons for new mums.

Owner Donna Grant, 54, who has been a midwife for more than 25 years, said she was “overwhelmed” to see hundreds of people attend the official opening at the start of the month.

She added: “It has always been my dream to offer a midwifery service to give families that extra bit of support and to share their journey.

“When I had that dream I did not ever think that I would own three branches and run my own clinic.

“I opened Tummy2mummy to enhance current NHS maternity services which sadly cannot do everything due to cutbacks and short staffing levels.

“We are here if parents need that extra bit of support, offering a professional and friendly service.”

Midwife Donna added: “Our priority is always the safety of mothers and babies, and all of our team are health professionals whose qualifications are recognised and regulated by the profession.”

Tummy2mummy opened its first branch in Hinckley in 2009, followed by a second in Leamington Spa in 2014 and a third in Coventry last year.

They work with maternity wards at the region’s hospitals and Mrs Grant also runs “aquanatal” services at Hinckley’s leisure centre.

The Burbage woman has also raised £3,000 for several baby loss charities over the years.
