Panto fun promises to help ditch winter blues

-

DITCH the January blues and plan a family visit to watch one of the nation’s best-loved pantomimes.

Local thespians, the Earl Shilton and Barwell Pantomime Company are presenting Puss in Boots at the Heath Lane Academy on Sat- urday and Sunday February 4 and 5.

The traditional tale follows Tom and pet cat Puss who become homeless after the death of his father.

Tom’s dreams of finding his fortune seem all but lost, that is until Puss comes up with a cunning plan

Along with Puss and Tom the show features all the usual panto crew including a dizzy dame, villainous baddies and lots of friendly faces to help the heroes on their way.

Jenni Hubbard, company director, “We are very excited to be doing Puss in Boots as our panto this year. The script is full of adventure, music, comedy and fun which audiences of all ages will enjoy.

“Our cast and crew have been working hard since September putting the show together and we are planning on making it a show to remember.”

Last year’s show Sleeping Beauty received rave reviews, while the company, which also goes by the name Stageworks, received eight awards from the Panto Alliance in 2015.

Show times on Saturday February 4 are 2pm and 7pm and 1pm on Sunday February 5.

Tickets are £5 for adults and £4 concessions. Call the box office on 0739 815 0916.
