Titanic tale sets sail for stage of the Concordia Theatre

-

THE HISTORIC and tragic tale of RMS Titanic will be brought to life in a spectacular new musical at The Concordia Theatre.

Sailing into Hinckley stages from Monday March 20 until Saturday March 25, the allsinging, all-dancing production is the latest show by The Tinhatters.

The musical tells the famous story of the ship’s final hour, on April 14 1912.

It was on this day that the RMS Titanic, on her maiden voyage from Southampton to New York, collided with an iceberg, and the ‘ unsinkable ship’ slowly sank.

As one of the most tragic disasters of the 20th Century, 1,517 men, women and children lost their lives.

The musical, adapted from a Tony award-winning Broadway production written by Peter Stone and Maury Yeston, is based on actual characters who were onboard the most famous ship in the world.

Focusing on their hopes and aspirations for the journey and their life ahead, the musical tells the story of those who lost their lives.

Unaware of the fate that awaits them, audience members will relive the third class immigrants who dreamed of a better life in America, the newly-enfranchised second class, who dream of becom- ing rich and famous, and the millionaire Barons of the first class.

The production has been dubbed as “shattering and gorgeous” and “absolutely thrilling” by theatre critics, and promises to enthral Hinckley audiences.

Tickets to the show cost £10 for the Monday performance, £11 on Tuesday and £13 Wednesday to Saturday.

There is also a 10 per cent discount on offer for anyone booking 10 or more seats for any single performance.
