Timely arrival of Dr Who exhibition at space centre

-

DISCARD the cushions and creep out from behind the sofa, there’s a chance to get spooked up close and personal at the National Space Centre.

The venue will host a Science of the Time Lords exhibition on Saturday and Sunday January 28 and 29 dedicated to the world’s longest running sci-fi TV show, Doctor Who.

There will be a timeline exhibition of the Tardis, a tomb of the Cybermen, costumes from modern and historic episodes, a whole legion of Daleks and, making its UK debut, a fully realised recreation of the 1978 Tardis control room studio set from the Tom Baker years.

Special guests will be joining the Cyber invasion for the weekend, including the sixth and seventh Doc- tors, Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy, along with their companions from the show, Peri and Ace, played by Nicola Bryant and Sophie Aldred.

Ensuring world domination is final, on Sunday the event will welcome special guests Dan Starkey, everybody’s favourite Sontaran - Strax, as well as two of the actors who have taken on the role of the leader of the Daleks, Davros - Terry Molloy and David Gooderson.

The showcase will also uncover the detail behind the science of the show from cloning, to multiple hearts, artificial intelligence and sonic screwdrivers.

The exhibition is open from 10am to 5pm both days tickets are available from www.spacecentre.co.uk
