Leicester Road in narrow defeat away to league leaders

A MASSIVE crowd of 875 turned up to watch this top of the table clash as Leicester Road travelled to league leaders Bromsgrove.

And it was the home team that took all the points as they ran out 1-0 winners.

Leicester Road started the first half defending the slope. The first half flowed end to end with both sides having their fair share of chances.

The second half started with Leicester Road hoping to peg Bromsgrove back with the slope to our advantage. Unfortunat­ely Bromsgrove started the half the livelier with Robbie Bunn opening the scoring on 47 minutes.

Bromsgrove stayed on the attack forcing Will Highland to save brilliantl­y to prevent the score increasing on 54 minsutes.

Amarvir Sandhu replaced Luke Kingsley-Smith on 55 minutess as Neil Lyne tried to change things around and get the “Ama” going on some mazy runs.

With Jason Cowley through on goal he was brought down by Will Highland and Bromsgrove were awarded a penalty on 62 minutes. Amhed Ali stepped up to take the penalty which was brilliantl­y saved by the inform Will Highland.

Daryll Thomas replaced Jake Holt on 64 minutess as Neil Lyne changed the formation to two out and out strikers but the game ebbed away from Leicester Road.

The game finished 1-0 to Bromsgrove.
