BAD weather saw several games in the Hinckley and District Sunday League called off for the second week in a row.

The only game to beat the freezing conditions in the Bond Street Trophies Premier Division was a clash between Duke of Rutland and Market Bosworth 2000.

Rutland won 2-1 thanks to first half goals from Liam Fisher and Jody Green. Tom Alesbrook scored a consolatio­n strike for Bosworth.

In the Hardy and Draper Carpets Division One, FC Bulls Head are one win away from clinching the title following a 3-1 victory at home to Thurlaston Magpies.

Simeon Davis gave Bulls Head a first half lead after slotting home an inchperfec­t through ball from Alex Field.

Andy Wakefield added to the total from 12 yards after beating the keeper to the ball, before Magies reduced the deficit with good play on the left side.

The game was decided 10 minutes from the end when Lewis Dunkley fired low past the keeper to make the final score 3-1.

Sporting Dynamo Reserves lost the chance to keep on the heels of the leaders after losing 1-0 at Ullesthorp­e FC.

The Printing Works Division Three is turning into a two horse race between Stoneycrof­t and Weavers Power.

Stoneycrof­t maintained top spot with a 4-0 win over Holywell United.

After a goalless first half, Jason Swain scored a hat-trick and Matt Hill slotted home to seal the three points.

Weavers Power are level on points after thrashing AFC Barn 6-0 - but have a game in hand.

They took an early lead when Danny Simmons rolled the ball past the keeper, before Leon Simmons added a second with a 10 yard rocket.

Danny added his second goal before man of the match Andy Courtney made it four with a penalty.

Rikki Sampson blasted home and Jimmy Gee tapped in to stamp Weavers’ authority on the game.

Totes Hilar hosted Red Lion and comfortabl­y dismantled the away side with a 9-0 win.

Ben Harding scored four, George Harding scored a hat-trick and an own goal blew Red Lion away.

Red Lion had a few chances to score but goalkeeper Ash Cathcart kept them at bay.
