It is no wonder that Britain is in terminal decline

-

CHARLES E Leggat might well imagine that modern Britain is some kind of multi-cultural wonderland, but many of us think differently.

The standard contemporary words of abuse such as racist, homophobic and sexist trip so easily off the tongue when faced with any opinion which challenges the comfortable assumptions of liberal left piety.

With unrestricted mass immigration altering whole areas of cities such as London, Birmingham, Leeds and Manchester, to name but a few, almost beyond recognition and continued migration putting enormous strain on public services, increased car usage and pressure on housing, there is very little to be smug about.

With many communities making little or no attempt to integrate and persisting with their profoundly illiberal and repressive customs, multiculturism can hardly be said to be a rip roaring success.

Social disintegration, with the highest divorce rate and teenage pregnancy in western Europe also represent a state of affairs in which our permissive society has nothing to be proud about.

With a steady drip feed of junk TV, junk celebrity culture, junk arts and junk politics numbing our ability to think for ourselves, it is no wonder that Britain is in terminal decline.

I rest my case. Dick Hayball Burbage
