McDonald’s fast tracks new kit

-

YOUNG footballers are looking fine and dandy in a brand new kit courtesy of global fast food chain, McDonalds.

The Under-13s at FC Burbage received the strip through the restaurant’s FA Kit Scheme which encourages grass roots clubs to apply for funding.

Thousands of clubs which are accredited by the FA as FA Standard Charter members sent in bids. Some 70,000 kits have been delivered.

To mark the occasion, FC Burbage Youth invited Normandy Way McDonald’s franchisee Lorraine Lee along to the ground.

Lorraine said: “FC Burbage Youth are an excellent example of a grass roots club which has a real community spirit and lots of enthusiasm. The kit that we have supplied them with is fantastic and the kit scheme is something that McDonald’s is incredibly proud to be able to roll out to clubs all over the country.”

FC Burbage Youth was formed in 2011 by three coaches who wanted to create an environment where children could have fun, make new friends and build confidence.

Jason Lee, from the club said: “We’re hugely grateful to McDonald’s for donating a new kit for our Under-13s team. An average team strip costs around £500 per season so this really is a huge saving for us and means we can spend the money on other areas of the club that need it. The kids absolutely love wearing their new strip. The McDonald’s Kit Donation Scheme is a benefit of being a FA Charter Standard Club, this status is a clear demonstration to all parents, sponsors and the public, that our club is well-organised, safe and offers opportunities for all.”
