Runners’ marathon awards haul
HINCKLEY Running Club held its annual awards evening at Hinckley’s Green Towers club for young people.
Runner of the Year trophies for 2016 went to Charlotte May Sinclair and Rolf Hoelmer and the Chairman’s Award was given to Odette Foxall.
Club president Geoff Oliver awarded President’s Shield Awards to Sarah Garford and Nick Moore, with Celine Guery and Bethan Padbury named runner-up and third place in the women’s section and Joe Langham and Chris Langham named runner-up and third place in the men’s section.
A Coaches Award was made to Erica Fisher and Graham Cross was named Beginner of the Year.
Men’s captains Richard Guest and Nick Moore, and women’s captains Jenny Green and Celine Guery presented standard awards to runners, based on the number and types of races completed in certain times throughout the season.
Gold distinction awards went to Michelle Fowler and Penny Masser, with gold awards given to Kate Perkins, Bethan Padbury, Anne Ashton, Chris Langham, Simon Earley, Chris Limmer and Paul Clayton.
Silver distinctions went to Jenny Green, Celine Guery, Rolf Hoelmer and Matthew Knight, with silver awards presented to Elizabeth Lees, Jude McSharry, Diane Wildbur, Leanne Byard, Amanda Knight, Sally Henderson, Rebecca Gould, Erica Fisher, Joe Langham, Stephen Penney, Matthew Johnson, Ian Sylvester and Rob Pratt.
Bronze distinction awards were given to Diane Wildbur, Amanda Knight, Elizabeth Aspden-Mansfield and Leanne Byard and bronze awards were presented to Greg Pollard, Jacqui Campbell, Faye Hudson, Harry Langham, Nick Moore, Jonathan Strong, Ben Masser, Charlotte May Sinclair and Julie Hudson.
Leicestershire Road Racing League (LRRL) Rep, Sarah Garford presented LRRL trophies to club members Bethan Padbury, Rebecca Gould, Kate Perkins, Celine Guery, Matthew Johnson, Chris Limmer, Matthew Knight, Chris Langham, Nick Moore, Joe Langham, David Limmer and Simon Birch.
Awards for 100% attendance in the league were made to Gordon Landsburgh, Sarah Garford, Nick Moore, Celine Guery, Julia Waite and Joe Langham.
