Support for responses to village growth plan
PEOPLE perplexed by a wide-ranging plan to help guide future development in 10 parishes are invited to attend dedicated information sessions.
Events are scheduled to allow villagers in Sapcote to comment, raise queries and gain more of an insight into the Fosse Villages Neighbourhood Plan.
Volunteers will be available at the library to help people complete a questionnaire, which is the next step in the consultation process.
Support will be offered over the next two Tuesdays, March 21 and 28 from 5pm to 7pm.
Ultimately the blueprint will give residents the opportunity to play a larger part, in planning terms, in determining where growth such as new homes and commercial sites is placed.
Consultation initially began in 2012 and now with a clearer scope of what local people think, a more detailed fact-finding mission is taking place.
Explanatory documents are being sent to every household and business in Sapcote. The consultation comes to an end on March 31 and more than one person per household can complete the questionnaire to ensure as many views as possible are represented.
The neighbourhood plan working group are encouraging people to complete the questionnaire online but hard copies are available from and can be returned to the local post office on Stanton Road, the Co-op and the library on Church Street and the parish council clerk at the Pavilion.
Once the responses to the consultation have been analysed a draft neighbourhood plan will be prepared and be subject to public comment before being submitted to Blaby District Council for assessment.
