Not in another back garden

-

HAS anyone noticed the unfortunate agenda of Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council to fill every back garden in the district with new houses?

They are generally squeezed into the back gardens without proper access and with no concern for surrounding properties. The design and construction of these houses does not compliment the existing properties around the development location.

I understand that the government is encouraging the council to build new houses, but with the several new estates in the district agreed by the HBBC they have already met the five year housing supply set by Westminster, I trust that HBBC will consider their rate payers and its duty to consider these back garden developments with responsibility. They are turning our district into an inner city ghetto.

Protection of privacy and amenity of occupiers of residential dwellings is required by HBBC policy DM10 of the SADMP (Site Allocation and Development Management - Design and Develop-ment).

Requirements to protect the impact on its highways under HBBC policy DM17 of the SADMP and ensure provision of parking as per HBBC policy DM18 of the SADMP also apply. Furthermore the HBBC must abide by Human Rights Act 1998 article 8 allowing individuals to quiet enjoyment of their properties.

Lets only hope the HBBC will recognise its responsibility to the community and stop these inappropriate back garden housing developments.
