Sunday League weekend round up

-

SUNDAY league side Tin Hat 2015 strengthened their position behind runaway leaders Sporting Dynamo in the Bond Street Trophies Premier Division with a 9-4 win over Cross Keys, writes John Poole.

Jordan Hemsley got a hat-trick, with Tarly Smith (two), Lewis Hopewell, Russell Szulz, Josh Johnson and John Byard also finding the net.

Cross Keys went 4-1 down at the break, but improved in the second half with goals from Tom Smith, Daniel Heath and Jordan Pickering.

Enderby Social have put a four match unbeaten run together to get them out of trouble and they continued their good form against Duke of Rutland.

Goalless at the interval, Enderby scored three in 15 minutes after the break through Baraclough (two) and Atkinson, only for Scott Colclough to pull one back for the Duke.

Sutton then scored a fourth for the hosts to seal the three points in a game well officiated by Dave Speight.

In the Hardy and Draper Carpets Division One, Three Horseshoes beat Athletico Green 3-0. Their clash against Sporting Dynamo Reserves next week could determine who takes the runners-up spot.

The title race in the PWS Leicester Division Two sees three teams level at the top after Coalville Miners made it eight wins in a row with an 11-1 romp at Royal Oak Bitteswell.

Six to the good at the break, the Miners scored through Sam Johnson (four), Michael Pickering (three), Joe Brennan (two), Stephen Bunker and Matt Hickey. Miners’ replacement keeper, Martyn Sharpe, had a couple of efforts to deal with but managed to keep a clean sheet.

Weavers Power celebrated their Printing Works Division Three title success with a 5-0 win against Stoneycroft.

Goals came from Bradley Corbett (two), Jimmy Gee (two) and James Bolton.

Stanton United Old Boys missed the chance of guaranteeing runners-up spot by sharing the points from a 0-0 draw with The Holywell.

AFC Barn were 4-1 up at the break against Red Lion and went on to win 5-1. Scorers for Barn were Ivor Watkins (three), Steve Billings and Matthew Wright. The consolation goal for Lion came from Shaun Bell.

Elsewhere, Tin Hat were unfortunate to lose to Quorn Royals, last year’s finalists, in the County Premier Cup.

In the County Premier Shield, Market Bosworth travelled to FC Britannia and drew 1-1.

There was a shock in the semi final of the JMS Engineers Senior Cup when previously unbeaten Sporting Dynamo went out to FC Topps Reserves. Connor Beasley and Matthew Pratt scored the goals in a 2-1 win that sets up a potential all Topps final should the first team win their upcoming clash with Enderby Social.

There was also a surprise in the semi final of the CS Construction Junior Cup when Division Two leaders Wykin lost 2-1 to Stoke Golding Reserves.

In the Les Moore Memorial Cup, Newstock Rangers Reserves beat MP Steel 5-2.
