Ex police chief’s CSI secrets
ULLESTHORPE WI members enjoyed a dinner to mark the end of their 90th anniversary celebrations, a visit to Hinckley’s Concordia theatre and a trip to Birmingham to watch Matthew Bourne’s production of The Red Shoes.
Colin Ollie spoke about the history of the National Gardens Scheme at a meeting at which Stella Tilley won a competition for an old garden tool.
Penny Hodgson spoke about her experiences of being a librarian to the rich and famous, when she ran the Durning Library at Ascot racecourse, at a meeting at which Kit Jacklin won a competition for a bookmark.
Ullesthorpe WI holds afternoon meetings in the village memorial hall, outside which the 8/58 bus service between Hinckley and Lutterworth stops.
The next meeting will be on Thursday April 13 at 1.45pm when former head of Warwickshire police forensics team Paul Taberner, will talk about real crime scene investigations.
