Foodbank donation from budding actors
AMATEUR thespians have donated hundreds of pounds to Hinckley Area Foodbank.
Members of St Peter’s Players, an all-age group based at St Peter’s RC Church on Leicester Road, presented a cheque for £1,068 to scheme co-ordinators.
The handover took place after a screening of their most recent production.
Tell Me A Story was staged earlier this year but a DVD recording of the show was made during its run.
The recording was shown at the Mary Forryan Centre at a recent gathering.
It was attended by many of the cast from St Peter’s Players includ- ing lead actors Gabriel Spiller-Bigley and Charlie Orton, and supporting actors Hannah Burton and Holly Spiller-Bigley.
Foodbank representatives Colin and Hazel Figures also attended the screening.
St Peter’s Players, who perform for charity, last year joined SPANNED, a Nottingham Diocesan agency for people with additional needs, to stage a specially-written musical called The Balm of Mercy which raised £5,400 to be shared between six charities including Hinckley Homeless Group, which runs Lawrence House hostel for homeless young people.
