We need to control the borders now

-

MY mother was an economic migrant from the continent and I recall comments made to her like “**** off back to your own country” so I understand to some degree the difficulties of immigrants.

There will never be rational deliberation in this country as long as liberal minded people fail to open their minds to more balanced discussion. Mr Vickers makes some interesting comments yet a letter of March 8 attempts to belittle him. Does John Payne have any experience of Birmingham or the council that runs it? Birmingham is a fine example of lack of integration with Alum Rock the feel of the Middle East and Handsworth the Caribbean.

I remember attempts by Birmingham Council to act as thought police and positive discrimination against white ethnic British job applicants. Too many Liberal thinkers try to distort history.

This country was invaded by Italians, Vikings, Anglo-Saxons and Normans.

The British might be a country of mongrels but not from choice.

Why do they have a guilt complex about the Empire after all we learnt a lot from our European neighbours who exploited, raped, murdered and pillaged us from 55BC to 1066.

Immigration is justified by liberals on economic grounds but is it fully costed? We must spend a fortune on translators in every walk of life from explaining immigrants their rights in legal cases to Health and Safety notices in the work place.

Loss of opportunity for our school children where education suffers because classrooms are miniature United Nations and the majority speak poor English.

What is the cost to the quality of life as the 300,000 plus emigrants per year fill the country? We need to control the borders now before it is too late D Griffiths
